A thousand thank you's, Peter and Laure, for sourcing and delivery of the screws. The shed roof can now be made secure - I don't think the original screws were ever fixed when it was erected! We are most impressed with the professionalism of both your companies. Again, thank you with much appreciation.
I removed my old 8ft x 10ft wooden, felt roofed shed and replaced it with a Lifetime plastic 8ft x 12.5ft Desert Sand shed. Delivery was on time, no transit damage and all parts were correct. To my surprise every part, sub assembly screws, nuts and bolts were all present and the quality of the parts meant the assembly was good. The erected shed blends in well with my garden and I would recommend it. Some difficulties: 1. Instructions in one booklet with 3 languages for each stage of assembly was difficult to read. Lifetime should provide one booklet for each language. In addition more close up views. The YouTube videos were very helpful. 2. It’s essential to have a flat, level, square base to within 10mm over the entire length and width. (My existing concrete base was 50mm out (from the center) over the 12.5ft length & I shimmed it with hardwood in declineing thicknesses to compensate). 3. The roof structure with it’s trusses and the gable ends are very solid but the side walls flex a great deal when pushed from the inside. Therefore add shelving down the 12.5ft sides. With these shelves added the flexing sides is minimised. 4. The double doors have no adjustment once installed other than shimming the base either side of the doors as appropriate. Hence the need for a perfectly flat base. All that said I would buy another one and fully recommend it.
Very pleased with this purchase as I spent hours looking for a container big enough to house 2 bean bag loungers. It did take my husband quite a while to construct but fortunately he's very good at that sort of thing. I possibly should have given it 5 stars but as we've only been using it for a short time it's impossible to know if it will stand the test of time.
Lifetime 7x12 Shed
The shed took me & my wife around 6 hours to assemble, the instructions are all fairly clear, if you've put flat-pack items together before, this should be OK. Unsurprisingly, the panels don't clip in as easy as they seem to do in the video, but nevertheless, it went up OK, the shed itself seems really sturdy, it's only been up for about two months, so not able to comment on long term performance, but has remained water-tight in heavy downpours so far. Shed comes in two quite heavy boxes & quite a bit of floor space is needed to lay the items out before assembly.
Perfect For Our Requirements
Good quality , definitley needs 2/3 people to assemble, my husband and I put it together in very high winds (stupid I know!) bit of a struggle but a lot of fun,and definitley worth it.
